PIL in Allahabad HC seeks better crowd management in temples during festivals

A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Allahabad High Court regarding the proper maintenance of the famous temples in the country and proper management of visitors who gather on special religious festivals.

The petition has been filed by Anant Sharma of Mathura, who has sought a plan for proper maintenance of temples to protect the rights of Hindu citizens, especially the Vaishnava tradition, to freedom of religion under Article 25 of the Constitution.

Along with this, the petition said that the instructions should also be issued for proper management, providing facilities and maintaining law and order for the huge crowd gathering during the festival.

The petition has also sought to declare illegal the management plan prepared by the court in the case of Goswami Onkar Nath and others vs Goswami Phundi Lal and others.
