Himachal Pradesh High Court Judge Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia tenders resignation

The Himachal Pradesh High Court judge Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia has tendered his resignation from the office. 

As per the notification published in the Law ministry website,his resignation would be effective from November 2.

The notification said that the Justice Chander Bhusan has tendered his resignation from the office of Judge, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, in pursuance of proviso (a) to clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution, with effect from 02ndNovember, 2022 (afternoon).

Justice Barowalia was born on March 15, 1961 and started his practise as a lawyer from November 1984 from the Himachal Pradesh High court and and other courts at Shimla.

He practiced as an advocate from November 1, 1984 in the High court of Himachal Pradesh and other courts of Shimla.

He became the Additional District and Sessions Judge, on January 10, 2003 and served in district judiciary after which he took charge as the Registrar (Judicial) in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. 

Later on, he became the Registrar General of the High Court ,he was later elevated as additional Judge of the High Court on April 12, 2016.

He was made a permanent judge in January 2018.
