Fed up with the inefficiency of the MCD, the Delhi High Court had appointed an ABP News reporter as the ‘local commissioner’ responsible for reporting the MCD’s work in developing and improving the state of the city’s sewers to stop the spread of dengue and other diseases.

The local commissioner was to prepare a report of his observations.

On June 23, the local commissioner reported to the bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar that his report—a status report— was ready.

The bench told him that the status report should not be broadcast now, since this matter is pending.

A copy of the report was handed over to the Union of India.

All municipal bodies will have to reply to same.
