Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray to take oath as CM tomorrow

Maharashtra Governor B.S. Koshiyari has invited Uddhav Thackeray to assume the office of Chief Minister of Maharashtra; the oath ceremony is supposed to take place at Shivaji Park on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at 6:40 pm. The Deputy CM is yet not determined.

The venue has traditional significance to Shiv Sena party.

Pro tem Speaker Kalidas Kolambkar administered oath to the MLAs at Vidhan Bhavan today.

The Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance – called the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) sent a letter of confidence to the Governor with support from a total of 166 elected members. MVA has thus been invited to form government in Maharashtra.

Uddhav Thackeray will have to get elected to the state legislature within six months of taking oath to continue as the Chief Minister.

After the BJP-led Government collapsed on Tuesday, MVA decided to stake claim.

Short-lived ex-deputy, Ajit Pawar has clarified that he is in NCP and there is no reason to create confusion about it.

Balasaheb Thorat, Group Leader of INC, said that the portfolio-sharing within the alliance is supposed to be declared within two days from today.
