Delhi High Court issued notice in the appeal preferred by the Delhi Government challenging a single-judge bench order dated July 12, 2021, wherein it was ruled that the benefit of the welfare scheme announced by the ruling Delhi Government cannot be restricted to only advocates resident of Delhi.
Delhi High Court has issued Notice to Ministry of Law and Justice, Bar Council of India, Bar Council of Delhi, Rouse Avenue District Court Bar Association, Central Delhi Court Bar Association and Registrar of Societies.
The petitioner has said that he has made several attempts to reach the office bearers of all the respondents through email but received a remedy or response. At that, he had filed a CM Application before this Court.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday took suo motu cognisance over issue of the vaccination of judges and the judicial staff. The suo motu cognizance was taken in view of a letter written by the Chairman, Bar Council of Delhi, urging that appropriate directions be issued to the concerned authorities.
The counsel for the petitioner states that the candidate satisfies all needed criteria under the advocate's act, 1961, and there is no specific rule in Bar Council of India to bound the enrollment of the petitioner.
