CBI investigation

While considering the PIL Gauhati High Court observed that out of the four sanction orders which have been annexed to the PIL, on the query of the Court as to in this respect of which sanction order, money was shown to have been spent but corresponding benefit to the beneficiary had not percolated.

The state government questioned the independence of the CBI, contending agency was acting at the behest of the centre and was targeting leaders and workers of the ruling TMC. The State of West Bengal had moved the Apex Court against the order passed by the Calcutta High Court on August 19, 2021.

The Supreme Court has disposed of a writ petition filed by a victim of sexual harassment working with the health department of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir while refusing CBI investigation in the case.

The Supreme Court or a High Court can allow the CBI to carry out any probe. That has not happened in this case. The CBI did not approach any court of law.

Maharashtra's government challenged the order of the High Court of CBI investigation against Anil Deshmukh in the Supreme Court. Anil Deshmukh also approached the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a plea filed by advocate Puneet Dhanda who sought a court monitored CBI investigation into the death of Bollywood Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian. The court asked him to approach the Bombay High Court.

With the mystery of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput heating up the Bihar government today has recommended that a CBI investigation should be initiated into the death case.
