Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana on Saturday gave full credit of filling up the vacancies in the Supreme Court, as well as various High Courts of the country, to the Supreme Court Collegium, calling it a team effort.

While 16 names were recommended for appointment to the Allahabad High Court, 8 were chosen for Kerala, 10 for Calcutta High Court , 7 for Rajasthan, 5 each for Gauhati and Jharkhand, 4 each for Punjab & Haryana and Madras, 2 for Chhattisgarh, and 1 for Madhya Pradesh.

The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) N V Ramana, has recommended 68 names, including 44 advocates and 24 judicial officers, for appointment as judges in 12 High Courts of the country.

Mukul Rohatgi, Senior Advocate for Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy started making submission that penalty proceedings were initiated, to which Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted that penalty proceedings are different.

The CJI administered oath to Justices Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, Vikram Nath, Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Hima Kohli, B.V. Nagarathna, CT Ravikumar, M.M. Sundresh, Bela Trivedi and P.S. Narsimha.

The Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice NV Ramana took up the plea. Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta appeared and informed Court that it was consented to, by NDTV that the same be taken up next week, Friday. Court then said that in that case, coercive steps may not be taken against the Roy's.

The Supreme Court, while hearing an anticipatory bail plea filed by a man accused in a murder case on Tuesday, observed that FIR is not an exhaustive document. If it does not indicate who the conspirators are, it does not mean the FIR is faulty.
