The capital reported 1496 cases of COVID-19 on Friday taking the total number of active cases to 11,994. Delhi reported 14 new deaths in the last 24 hours while 2,084 recovered from the deadly virus.

In the petition, the SCBA claimed that the SOP for hybrid physical hearings was issued by the Registry of the Supreme Court without consultation with the Bar and if virtual hearings are allowed to continue permanently,

Earlier in previous SOP issued on March 5, the Supreme Court decided to begin a hybrid mode of hearing on an experimental basis from March 15.

The bench considering the submission of Advocate Viraj Datar appearing for the Delhi High Court listed the matter before Divisional Bench subject to the direction of the Chief Justice on March 9.
