A bench comprising Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice Ravindra Bhat heard a petition seeking direction to the Centre to issue strict guidelines and regulations under any other law to prevent the chances of fake and counterfeit coronavirus vaccine.

The Supreme Court bench led by D.Y. Chandrachud delved into the larger issue of safeguarding the right of a citizen to receive medical treatment anywhere while hearing a plea in court that alleged that hospitals in Noida and Gurugram made it mandatory to produce an Adhaar Card with a local address.
