A Manipur High Court division bench was informed that the Government of India was considering enactment of a comprehensive law relating to refugees but pending such enactment, a Standard Operating Procedure was floated on 29.12.2011 to deal with foreign nationals who were claiming the status of refugees.
The PIL in Madras High Court further seeks direction to take all measures in accordance with law for more upkeep in the welfare and maintenance of the temple elephants in the State of Tamil Nadu.
The Madras High Court has observed that the Differently Abled Visually Impaired Persons cannot be equated with Differently Abled Persons who are ineligible to get any employment on account of the sickness and infirmity suffered by them.
The petitioner in Madras High Court was the councilor of the 6 th Ward of Mettur Municipality elected in the local body election held in the year 2011 as the candidate sponsored by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) .
