Land belonging to the Arulmighu Thirukanchi Nambigal Temple and Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple Poonamallee temple was taken over for the Chennai Metro project. The Madras High Court dismissed the PIL since the temples had not objected to it and the lack of locus of the petitioner.

In the Madras High Court, the petitioner had sought the Tamil Nadu government to consider his representation given on swindling in the name of the TN govt's free housing scheme. People had been allotted money but they had not built houses. The Court dismissed the PIl since it was vague.

Madras High Court after considering the submissions made by counsel for the petitioner, and perusuing the documents on record observed that there is nothing on record to prove the title of the petitioner in the land in question, for which notice in Form-III of the Act of 2007 has been given.

In view of the above, it became clear to the Madras High Court bench that the transgenders have already been brought under the category of Most Backward Classes and they are getting reservation.

The petition has been filed to seek a direction for consideration of the representation where the prayer has been made not to allow the private respondents to use the land for commercial purposes.
