The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear the petition filed against the Gujarat government's decision to redevelop Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat.

Grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, Tushar Gandhi, urges Supreme Court to intervene in the redevelopment of Sabarmati Ashram, stating that the over-sized involvement of Gujarat government in the project may lead to the ashram losing the Gandhian ethos it has preserved over the years.

Development is a central mantra of this government. But Development is assumed to be in lifting places and people from pitiable conditions to better times. But Development is now so souped up on acid that it has to be called Re-Development. Poor Vikas with bulging muscles and red, red eyes.
