The Allahabad High Court granted anticipatory bail to Quavi Ahmad, the son of Phulpur's former MLA Saeed Ahmed of the Samajwadi Party, in a case registered at Civil Lines police station on charges of misconduct and forced conversion.

The Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court on Monday held that without actually exhausting the remedy of filing of pre-arrest bail application before the court of first instance, one can't invoke the High Court's jurisdiction unless there are compelling and exceptional circumstances.

B-warrant has been issued by the competent court on April 18, 2020, against the applicant which was duly served on the applicant on November 19, 2020, by the jail authorities of District Jail, Sitapur.
