Supreme Court dismissed the plea challenging the judgment of the Tripura High Court, which in turn had dismissed a public interest litigation filed by Shubhankar Bhowmik. 

The Tripura High Court has recently disposed of a suo motu PIL that residents of Nonacherra ADC Village of Mungiakami RD Block in Khowai District were not being provided with adequate drinking water. The Court closed the proceedings after being satisfied that plans have been made by the Tripura government for the implementation of drinking water projects.

Supreme Court e-committee chairperson Justice D.Y. Chandrachud virtually inaugurated the event in the presence of Justice S. Muralidhar, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.

The Supreme Court on Thursday orally urged the All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) to inquire into acts of vandalism and hooliganism and revive its writ petition in the Tripura High Court regarding immediate action on complaints of victims of assault, intimidation and other criminal activities.

The Tripura High Court has issued notice on a PIL, challenging the order passed by the District Magistrate of West Tripura, prohibiting any kind of meeting/procession/public gathering by any political party in Sadar Police Sub-Division.
