Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava has written a letter to the Chairman Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), requesting a postponement of the Civil Services (Prelims) exams of this year.

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice on a PIL filed by a Society for disabled, challenging the prelims examination notice issued by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) alleging that it doesn’t provide adequate reservation to the disables.

Js Jyoti Singh that “jurisdiction conferred on High Courts under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is an inviolable basic framework of our Constitution, however, with respect to service matters of the employees covered under the Act, High Courts cannot exercise jurisdiction in the first instance."
