Uttarakhand Chief Minister

Tirath Singh Rawat was the chief of the party in Uttarakhand in 2013-15 and also an MLA from the state in the past. He will be sworn in later today.

The Supreme Court today stayed the Uttarakhand High Court order directing a CBI probe against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

The Uttarakhand High Court had yesterday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to start a probe against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on a bribe allegation made by two journalists. Today, the Chief Minister moved the Supreme Court, challenging the high court’s order.

The Uttarakhand High Court has issued a Contempt of court notice to former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and present Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari in the matter of not depositing his arrears of rent and other bills.
