In an unprecedented move, the Gujarat High Court has asked the Superintendent of Police to investigate and present a 14-year-old girl before the court. The girl allegedly had run away with a man for marriage.

The court was hearing a case in which Dilip Padhiyar, who was punished with a 10-year imprisonment by a special court for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl, was out on bail in this case and did the same thing with another girl, this time a 14-year-old.

The court has asked the state government to file an application seeking cancellation of Dilip’s bail as he attempted a similar offense after getting out on bail.

Dilip was convicted on POCSO charges, two years ago. He got only 10 years of imprisonment as the girl was over 16 and didn’t alleged rape against the convict. Dilip is from Uchchhad village in Bharuch District.
