Rohini hospital moves Delhi HC over depleting oxygen supply amid pandemic

Petitioner Saroj Super Specialty Hospital, Rohini, run by the ‘Ganesh Das Chawla Charitable Trust,’ said that there are almost 130 patients admitted in the hospital.

ILNS: A Rohini hospital has filed a fresh petition in the Delhi High Court seeking directions to the Centre, the AAP government and INOX Air Products Ltd, to meet its urgent demand of depleting oxygen, amid the COVID pandemic. Several other hospitals have already moved the High Court with similar prayers.

Petitioner Saroj Super Specialty Hospital, Rohini, run by the Ganesh Das Chawla Charitable Trust, said it had 130 patients of whom 70 patients are critical and in intensive care. Of them, 48 patients are on invasive and non-invasive ventilator support and need high flow oxygen, the plea said.

The High Court will resume its hearing on this issue following its last night’s marathon hearing.

The petition, filed by Advocate Prabhsahay Kaur, sought direction to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Government of NCT of Delhi and to its vendor INOX Air Products Ltd, to immediately supply 3,000 cubic metres of LMO to Saroj Super Specialty Hospital and continue the same on a daily basis during the peak of the present COVID wave.
