Seal Darul Uloom Deoband, mosques, madrasas, dargahs: Letter petition demands in Supreme Court

The Hindu Sena has sent a letter petition to Chief Justice of India, Justice N.V. Ramana, on Monday  to pass suo motu direction to relevant authorities to seal or impose Section 144 CrPC in all mosques, idgahs, madrasas and dargahs to foil any anti-national activity or planning for creating disturbance and to cause riots.

The letter also sought the sealing of Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband, which, according to Jain, was the centre for rioters and terrorists.

It sought that central agencies be directed to probe people leading such planning and conspiring against the nation and owing allegiance to the above mentioned anti-national hubs.

The petition said the series of attacks by Muslims after their namaz on Friday June 10 in various parts of the country in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Jharkhand among a few states is alarming.

Apart from this, the letter petition has also demanded the arrest of Maulvi Ilyas Sharafuddin, who made objectionable remarks on the shivling found in the Gyanvapi complex and Abbas Siddiqui, who heads the Furfura Sharif dargah in West Bengal.

Muslims across north India staged protests against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s comments against Prophet Muhammad on Friday last. Many of the protests turned violent ad police in Uttar Pradesh arrested over a 100 people. On Sunday, bulldozers razed the house of activist Afreen Fatima in Prayagraj saying it was an encroachment and an illegal construction.
