Delhi HC Judges resolve to donate in the ‘PM CARES’ fund against COVID-19

The Judges of Delhi High Court have resolved today to donate Rupees 10,000 each by issuing cheques to the fund created for fighting the disease COVID-19. The fund named as ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation’ or ‘PM CARES’ was announced by the PM for fighting the deadly diseases.

The Judges also decided that it is the need of the hour that this court and the subordinate courts shall make voluntary donations in the said fund. Also, the Judges said that the officers of the High Court, Judicial officers and officers of the Delhi District courts may also contribute one day’s salary and the donations could be more than what is suggested.

This came after Justice N.V. Ramana, senior most judge of Supreme Court on Saturday donated Rs. 1 Lakh each to the PM’s relief fund, Andhra Pradesh CM’s Releif fund and Telangana CM’s relief fund to contribute in the fight against the deadly and contagious disease COVID-19.
