Delhi High Court to go for Winter break from December 24, 4 Vacation Benches to hear urgent matters during this period

The Delhi High Court, which is set to go for Winter break from December 24 to January 3, has constituted four Vacation Benches, which will hear urgent matters during this period.

The information was given by Registrar General Ravinder Dudeja on Monday by way of a notification, which also shared the composition of Vacation Benches.
As per the notification, the Bench of Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice Amit Sharma: will hear urgent matters on December 24, 25 and 26. 

From December 27 to 29, the Bench of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Saurabh Banerjee will take up cases.

The Bench of Justice Najmi Waziri and Justice Saurabh Banerjee will sit during the period between December 30 to January 1, while Justice Sanjeev Narula and Justice Amit Mahajan will hear cases on January 2 and 3.

The Judges will first sit in Division Benches and then proceed on to hear urgent cases related to civil, criminal and other matters, as may be placed before them, single-handedly, said the Registrar General.

The Vacation Benches will sit on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and such other days as they may think fit at 10:30 am. The sitting may continue for the next succeeding day, if the matters fixed for a day are not finished on that particular day, he added.

As per the notification, in case a Judge was not available on a day due to some unforeseen reason, the other Judge may sit alone, subject to the condition that he/she shall not dismiss the Division Bench matters.
