The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has renamed the Pragati Maidan Metro station as the Supreme Court metro station.

The demand to change the name of Pragati Maidan Metro station on the Blue Line was made by the Supreme Court in September 2019.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the entire renaming process, including the change of audio in metro train announcements will be done within a month.

Mukarba Chowk on Delhi’s Outer Ring Road will also be renamed as Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Chowk.

“Mukarba Chowk and the flyover have been renamed by the naming committee as Captain Vikram Batra Chowk after the martyr who sacrificed his life in the Kargil War,” the Deputy Chief Minister announced.

Sisodia also announced plans to rename several roads. This includes renaming  Badarpur-Mehrauli Road as Acharya Shri Mahapragya Marg and MG Road as Acharya Tulsi Marg.
