A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking cancellation of bail recently granted to Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, which led to death of eight people, including four farmers.

The plea, filed by original petitioner in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, lawyer Shiv Kumar Tripathi, sought cancellation of bail granted to Ashish on Wednesday by the Allahabad High Court.

Tripathi is the same person, on whose plea, the SIT was constituted in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.

The petitioner sought direction to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Retd Justice Rakesh Jain and the State Prosecution /Police of Uttar Pradesh, to showcause as to why things were delayed with victim families, who were desperately looking for some succor in their quest to justice.
