Advocates, who are standing counsels for the Delhi government, say they haven't been paid for the last 4-5 years. They have moved Delhi High Court for the recovery of the money. Delhi High Court Chief Justice D.N. Patel Justice Jyoti Singh said they should be at least paid dues of over 6 months.
On the previous date of hearing, Balbir Singh, Additional Solicitor General, had submitted that the process for appointment of candidates who have been selected pursuant to the procedure which was initiated in 2019 shall be expedited and orders of appointment shall be issued soon.
New Delhi: While a division bench of the Delhi High Court, comprising Chief Justice D. N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan was hearing arguments on a bunch of petitions seeking an investigation into police brutality on students of Jamia Milia University, Additional Solicitor General Aman Lekhi, the police counsel, said that the transfer of investigation is done in exceptional cases when Fundamental Rights are severely endangered.
