The Uttarakhand High Court on Friday passed the above order while directing the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to consider representations seeking extension of due date of filing the Tax Audit Report
Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared on behalf of Batra submitted that the MLA himself will remove all illegal constructions after inspection and identification by Roorkee-Haridwar municipal authorities.
For this, 1,072 acres of land of Pantnagar University are being acquired. After the formation of the state, about 4,300 acres of the land of Pantnagar University has been acquired for non-agricultural purposes.
The Petition said that this has been confirmed by the Municipal Corporation. Sealing orders were also issued by the authority in the year 2015 , but in spite of this the illegal construction went on unabated.
The Court has asked the State Government to dissolve the old inquiry committee and set up a new District level committee. The Court has directed the committee to investigate the people living illegally there and submit the report to the court by 29 December.
