UPPSC denies to call candidates for interview: HC issues notice

New Delhi (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has issued a notice on a petition filed by applicants for the post of Lecturer (Mathematics) seeking quashing of the decision of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for not calling the petitioners for the interview for the concerned post scheduled to be held on September 28 and 29.

A single-judge bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta while hearing the matter has allowed the respondents to file counter affidavit.

The petition has been filed by the applicants for the post of Lecturer (Mathematics) through their Advocates Prashant Shukla and Satyam Singh who has been denied for appearing in the interview by UPPSC scheduled On September 28 and 29 and has sought directions for UPPSC to allow the petitioner to participate in the interview.

Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that none of the petitioners herein could obtain marks above the cut off marks prescribed by the Commission, and further sought time to file a formal counter affidavit.

Whereas, the petition stated that

The advertisement prescribed minimum qualifications, age, the procedure of recruitment amongst other things. It is pertinent to mention that no criteria, norm, and cut-off marks regarding screening tests were prescribed in the advertisement.

The bench has listed the matter for further hearing on October 12.
