New Delhi (ILNS): The 15-year-old rape victim, who had allegedly attempted self-immolation in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, has succumbed to her injuries in a hospital in Delhi.

The father of the victim had alleged that the victim was set ablaze by the uncle of the accused and his friends who were pressurizing her to reach a compromise.

“We’ve collected all evidence from the scene. Five of the seven accused have been arrested. Efforts are on to nab the other accused,” said Santosh K Singh, SSP. He added: “The victim attempted self-immolation as she was forced to withdraw complaint by a family member of the accused. She is undergoing treatment.”

Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh said yesterday that one and a half page suicide note was found from the place where the victim attempted suicide.
