“Do’s And Don’ts”: Uttarakhand HC Issues Guidelines For E-gate Pass

The Uttarakhand High Court at Nainital, has issued certain guidelines for availing ‘e-Gate’ Pass in order to enter court premises.

Its mentioned that except the Senior Advocates, Advocates for State and Union, no ‘e-Gate’ Pass shall be issued to any advocate whose name is not mentioned in the Cause List and If for any reason, name of any Advocate does not get published in the Cause List, while applying for the ‘e-Gate’ Pass, he is requested to mention this fact.

The Guidelines highlighted the necessary details in order to apply for the ‘e-Gate’ pass such as Full Name of visitor, his/her Email Address, Full Address, valid mobilenumber, passport size photo which should be clear and recent one, ID Proof Number and purpose of visit in detailare mandatory. In absence of any of said required details, the ‘e-Gate’ Pass will not be issued.

It was further notified that the visitors are required to furnish an undertaking as per the Notification of High Court, issued on 19.05.2020, with the purpose ofvisit, while applying for ‘e-Gate’ pass.

The undertaking shall be as below-

“I, hereby declare that I have been in Nainital/ Bhowali/ Bhimtal town or any other place situated within radius of 15 K.M. from the High Court,for not less than last 15 continuous days and I have not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 disease,” mentioned in the guideline.

Lastly, it’s said that for any other work, for which ‘e-Gate’ Pass is issued, the visitors are required to apply, a day before till 01:00 PM and for depositing the hard copies of matters, the ‘e-Gate’ Pass shall not be required as the deposition box is located near Gate No ‘7’ of the High Court.
