UP govt appoints Sharan Dev Singh Thakur as its Additional Advocate General

The Yogi Adityanath government has appointed advocate Sharan Dev Singh Thakur as its Additional Advocate General to represent Uttar Pradesh in the Supreme Court, official sources said.
Thakur, who is the son of former Chief Justice of India TS Thakur and grandson of former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir DD Thakur, is one of the youngest to hold the said post.
Sharan Dev Singh Thakur is a law graduate from Bangalore University and holds an LLM from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
Thakur replaces Ashwariya Bhatti, who was recently appointed Additional Solicitor General in the Supreme Court to represent the Union of India.
With this appointment, the state of Uttar Pradesh will be represented by two Additional Advocates General in the apex court.
