The SC-monitored technical committee investigating the allegations of illegal spying done by the Central government using Israel spyware Pegasus, has put up an 11-point questionnaire before the public, seeking their views on the security and privacy of people, latest by March 31.
The Supreme Court has decided to conduct hearing on the petitions accusing the Central government of spying on a number of politicians, activists and journalists with the help of Israel spyware Pegasus, on February 25.
Apart from this, the petition has also sought a direction to investigate the matter and demand action, through the SIT set up by the Supreme Court to investigate the Pegasus case.
The State of West Bengal had set up a two-member Commission of Inquiry, headed by retired judge Madan B Lokur, to probe into the alleged surveillance of Indian citizens using Israeli Pegasus spyware.
The Supreme Court on Monday continued its hearing on a batch of petitions seeking SIT/judicial probe into the reports of snooping using the Israel spyware Pegasus.
