The SCBA said it doesn’t have the facilities of a full-fledged hospital and requested members, who are suffering any ailment or have recovered from Covid, to consult their doctors before coming for Covid vaccination.

Any member who has been hospitalized for upto 7 days on account of Covid shall be eligible for a further sum of Rs. 25,000/- in addition to the grant amount mentioned under Clause1.

The Supreme Court administration on Thursday conveyed its ‘in-principle’ concurrence to the initiative of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) for setting up a temporary in-patient facility for Covid patients in the Supreme Court Complex.

The Association also requested to approve the temporary conversion of the Advocates Chamber Block in the Additional Supreme Court Complex for use as COVID Care centre

SCBA Secretary Prasad felicitated the retiring CJI on behalf of the SCBA and kicked off the event by welcoming all members of the bar and introducing Senior Advocate Pradeep Kumar Rai to commence the function.

The application further stated that the High Courts appear to be best suited to deal with the situation, while seeking direction to allow the High Courts to continue dealing with the present issue.

The Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association (SCAORA) has moved the Supreme Court seeking extension of limitation period for filing petitions, applications, suits and appeals under all general and special laws before the Courts and Tribunals in view of the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases across the Country.

The Supreme Court has written to the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association requesting to reduce timings of Lawyers chambers blocks in view of the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and imposed night curfew in Delhi-NCR region.
