Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Vikas Singh was the first one to address the ceremonial bench, thereafter Mr. Shivaji Yadav, President SCAORA addressed the bar and bench bidding their warm farewell to Justice Ashok Bhushan.

The SCBA said it doesn’t have the facilities of a full-fledged hospital and requested members, who are suffering any ailment or have recovered from Covid, to consult their doctors before coming for Covid vaccination.

Any member who has been hospitalized for upto 7 days on account of Covid shall be eligible for a further sum of Rs. 25,000/- in addition to the grant amount mentioned under Clause1.

Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana also met with SCBA and SCAORA representatives and had agreed to provide suitable areas for establishing Covid-related facilities

In an urgent meeting with Bar Council of India and Supreme Court Bar association representatives, Chief Justice NV Ramana said that the court will tentatively reopen on June 28.

The Supreme Court has written to the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association requesting to reduce timings of Lawyers chambers blocks in view of the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and imposed night curfew in Delhi-NCR region.

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has unanimously decided to write a letter to the Chief Justice of India, requesting him to hear them against the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Apex Court for hybrid physical hearing without any consultation with the Bar.

In the petition, the SCBA claimed that the SOP for hybrid physical hearings was issued by the Registry of the Supreme Court without consultation with the Bar and if virtual hearings are allowed to continue permanently,

President of SCBA, Vikash Singh signed the letter claiming that the Auditorium was denied at the time when the SCBA was giving its farewell to Hon'ble Ms Justice Indu Malhotra.

A bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R. Subhash Reddy has noted in its order that the pandemic has thrown its own challenges and one is the functioning of the judiciary.
