Bombay High Court division bench heard a Suo Moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL) , relating to the use of nylon/synthetic thread (manja) and directed the respondents to form special cells for taking effective action against the violators as per the ban imposed by the National Green Tribunal.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the petition filed by senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla challenging the FIR lodged by Mumbai Police in March this year. The police had booked unidentified persons for allegedly tapping phones and leaking confidential documents on the State Intelligence Department complaint since such tapping was in violation of the Official Secrets Act 1923.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted four weeks' protection from arrest to Raj Kundra, businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty's husband, in the case of shooting and streaming pornographic content. The Apex Court also issued notice to the Maharashtra government.

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, who was granted bail in October in the Mumbai-Goa cruise drug case, has now moved to the Bombay High Court seeking modification of the bail conditions.

A full court reference was held in the Supreme Court today in the memory of Senior Advocates Ashok H. Desai and Soli Sorabjee, both former Attorney Generals of India. Desai died on April 13, 2020 and Sorabjee passed away on April 30, 2021.

The bench of special NIA judge D.E. Kothalikar while dictating order said the court cannot lose site of the fact that there are serious allegations against Bhardwaj. She has shown apprehension of tampering of evidence. Considering the pros and cons of the matter, much leniency cannot be shown to her.

The Supreme Court upheld the bail granted to Sudha Bharadwaj from the Bombay High Court, upholding the judgment of default bail given by the Bombay High Court.

The Supreme Court on Monday has restrained the Maharashtra Police from filing chargesheets against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. The investigations in the said matter will however continue with the liberty to file counter-affidavits within a week. The Apex Court also extended the interim protection given to Singh earlier.

During the hearing on air pollution in the Supreme Court, the Center informed about the formation of the task force.
